Noosa Pengarie Steiner School

noosa pengarie steiner school

This project entailed the original master plan, a relocated heritage building and the preschool, followed in stages by a class 1, 2 and 3 building and the covered outdoor area building.

The master plan philosophy was to create a range of age specific precincts interconnected into an overall campus set amongst a fragile
wallum ecosystem. The pioneering school community was consulted closely to create a school that had its own unique character within an Anthroposophical framework.

The preschool is unashamedly playful and symbolically embraces the children at the entry and sits under a loose organic leaf like roof. The building is from traditional local hardwood and sustainable ply sheeting with water tanks and composting toilets.
